echoform reimagines the book as an instrument, where typography and publishing become tools for capturing and translating sound. The text created with the support of GPT technology, explores the book as a multidimensional object, merging form, text, and sound through abstract onomatopoeic words. Printed entirely with letterpress in Didot, the typographic composition generates a visual rhythm, while overlapping layouts create layered noise and abstract soundscapes. Parchment paper, chosen for its tactile and acoustic qualities, enhances the project’s sonic dimension. Large 50×70 cm sheets fold into 12.5×18 cm, each employing a unique folding method to produce distinct rhythms. Inserts in various colors introduce additional narrative layers, concealing smaller formats that reveal explanations of the abstract words. All elements are housed in a custom-designed box, whose structure and details echo the typographic rhythms within. Encouraging interaction, the publication invites audiences to read, unfold, and play it like an instrument—experimenting with its textures, sequences, and sonic possibilities to co-create an evolving, rhythmic experience.
