Concept and spatial and typographic design of the installation commemorating the civilian victims of the Warsaw Uprising. The starting point for designing the installation was the Excel list of civilian victims of the Warsaw Uprising provided by the Museum. The list included the names and surnames of the victims as well as their date of birth and last place of stay or residence. There were almost 60,000 people on the list. The monument was to be placed on a long park alley near the cemetery. All this data led to the idea of a candle, which was associated with commemoration. The soaring form of the column/candle allowed for clear composing of data from Excel reports. To emphasize the importance of this installation, the columns are approximately 3 m high. Their size arouses respect among visitors. The database is updated periodically and the monument is rebuilt. Team: Ola Kot, Justyna Czerniakowska, Michał Paszke (architect)
